Altemir Consulting started as a group of experienced senior manufacturing, engineering, warehousing, and private equity executives that transitioned to consulting. Our consultants have been involved in a wide variety of aerospace, medical device, industrial product, contract manufacturing, consumer product, food manufacturing, and other discrete manufacturing businesses over the past 30 years.
David Altemir
David Altemir has over 30 years of professional management experience in engineering, R&D, manufacturing, supply chains, and enterprise IT. His diverse experience has spanned aircraft, UAVs, rotorcraft, spacecraft, medical devices, contract manufacturing, consumer products, food manufacturing, and manufactured homes at nearly all levels and functional areas. After his early NASA engineering experience, Mr. Altemir helped manufacturing companies, large and small, meet growing customer demand with on-time delivery and high quality. His career has been marked by developing and implementing numerous transformational improvements.
Mr. Altemir holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, Master of Materials Science from Rice University, and MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Sensei and the author of "Lean MRP: Establishing a Manufacturing Pull System for Shop Floor Execution Using ERP or APS".
Bob Hunter
Bob Hunter is an accomplished, results-oriented executive with over 25 years of global manufacturing, supply chain, project management, continuous improvement, and P&L general management experience for a variety of small, medium, and large enterprises.
Among his diverse roles, Mr. Hunter has led global teams in planning and executing strategic business initiatives to achieve operational excellence. He managed global manufacturing and supply chain organizations for Caterpillar, which included P&L responsibilities for the planning, manufacturing, purchasing, and distribution of highly engineered products. He leveraged his expertise to champion the development and implementation of lean principles across 25 global facilities and re-engineered global supply chain networks to meet customer requirements. His leadership style fosters employee engagement and accountability for change.
As a consultant, Bob has a passion for drawing the straightest line between strategy and tactics to achieving meaningful performance improvements and exceptional business results for a variety of clients and industries.
John Tepper
John Tepper has held Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Product Development roles in all phases of medical device design and development, from initial concept through regulatory clearance and production. He has used his expertise to develop flagship product lines generating millions in revenue within budget, resource, and time constraints.
He developed his expertise by leading all phases of engineering and product development during his career at United Orthopedic Group, Orthofix, and notable medical device startups.
He further has deep experience with quality systems and regulatory activities, including FDA Class I, II, and III devices as well as CMS reimbursement.
Rick Emerson
Rick Emerson has had an expansive senior business unit management career in 3rd party logistics (3PL) operations and finance with DSC Logistics (now CJ Logistics). He led profitability and operating performance transformations for several regional and national clients that have included pack & ship, storage and handling, kitting, supply chain strategy, financial planning and analysis, activity based cost accounting, and enhanced competitive bidding.
Consulting assignments have capitalized on Rick's diverse background in logistics. He has instituted a variety of operating improvements in industries that include automotive manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, restaurants, healthcare, and paper.
Rick received an MBA in Finance from Loyola of Chicago. He is also a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and is a longtime volunteer for the local Roundtable.
Matthew Grosmann
Matthew Grosmann has ten years of experience in the financial industry, where he has helped execute over 25 M&A transactions involving both equity and debt financing. Mr. Grosmann was a vice president at Dunes Point Capital, LLC, a New York-based family office and private investment firm where he helped make control investments in the general industrial and energy services sectors. Prior to joining Dunes Point Capital, Mr. Grosmann was an investment banking associate in the New York office for Jefferies LLC and an investment banking analyst in the Dallas office for MHT Partners, LP.
Mr. Grosmann received a B.S., with distinction, in Economics with Financial Applications from Southern Methodist University. He is a former member of the Boards of Directors at Harvey Building Products, Professional Plumbing Group, Ehrhardt Tool & Machine, and Standard Locknut.
